Cornwall New Energy Hosts Final Event
On Wednesday, Oct 2nd Cornwall New Energy delivered its final annual conference as part of a celebration of the project's achievements over the past two and a half years.
The conference agenda was well received with over 110 delegates listening to our keynote speaker Steve Jermy from the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Hub.
There were a number of elective presentations highlighting technologies and industry developments that had a particular interest to delegates. These were in the areas of electric vehicle charging and the University of Exeter's new 'microgrid testing facility' that will be housed in the REEF building at their Tremough campus. There was also a general session on the top ten things businesses need to consider when developing a low carbon strategy. This saw some lively debate and discussion as businesses grappled with the need to decouple business growth from traditional carbon intensive business practices.
There was also a trade show featuring 12 suppliers from across the network all of whom had new products and services to showcase to the business community.
Part of the day was also taken by looking at the community agenda on low cost affordable housing and community energy projects. This was delivered by our project partners; Community Works and Community Energy Plus.
